Say Hello to Sarah!

Sarah took on an inspiring project to promote suicide prevention and mental health awareness among student-athletes. She created goodie bags for the freshman, junior varsity, and varsity volleyball teams at Newtown and New Fairfield High Schools.

The goodie bags were filled with thoughtful items like chapstick, candy, and homemade stress toys. Sarah also included index cards with mental health tips, such as how maintaining a healthy routine and practicing self-care can support emotional well-being. Additionally, she added personalized cards outlining how to look for the signs that someone might be struggling with their mental health. Before distributing the bags, Sarah gave a heartfelt speech to the teams.
