Constance: COVID Healing Circle

Constance is a mental health professional, currently working as a youth advocate in a high school. Yet she saw a need for mental health services among women – particularly young women – who are struggling with disruptions in their lives because of Covid-19. What they need, she says, are meaningful connections, the space to talk through their struggles, and tools to help them cope with the changes in their college experience and day-to-day lives.

Her “Adjusting to Covid-19 Healing Circle” is a virtual safe space where young women can talk through their struggles with social isolation and other pandemic-related issues, and learn from others who are going through the same.

“The topic might be ‘Adapting to Change,’ or ‘Developing New Routines,’ “ explains Constance. “Through the healing circle, women will make meaningful connections with others they might never have met. We’ll have speakers who will share tools on coping with anxiety and depression.  Our programming includes resources and activities that facilitate emotional resilience and address several facets of mental health.”

Constance has enlisted a dozen or so “ambassadors” to help her get the word out on social media and help run meetings.
